Synopsis
This series, a prequel to Agent Aika, centers on a teenaged Aika Sumeragi, who is learning the ropes about being a salvager by Gozo Aida. The girl as just gotten her Class-C salvager license and is trying to prove herself. During this time, she is approached by Eri Shingai, the president of her high school's treasure hunter club. It seems that Eri has a favor to ask of Aika and is taken about her family's cruiser. But it turns out that the adviser of the club, Risako Nagisa, is very curious about what Eri is trying to find – and soon finds herself in conflict with the girls – especially Aika!
Produced to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the original series, Aika R-16, like its predecessor and Najica Blitz Tactics, is filled with plenty of pantyshots, as well as shoujo-ai (lesbian) metaphors.
