Banner of the Stars
From OtakuWiki
Synopsis
It has been three years since a force from the Four Nations Alliance for Humankind sought to destroy the Humanoid Empire Ahb... and both sides nearly destroyed themselves. A cease-fire had been declared, but soon the Four Nations has begun another offensive – but the Ahb are ready now.
Ahb princess Abriel Nei Dubrusk Vicountess Paryunu Lafiel, also known as Lafiel, is now the commander of an Ahb plane-space attack craft known as the Basroil. Also acting as an officer of her ship is Ahb noble (and human) Jinto Lin. Ever since his father had been executed as a traitor to planet Martine by the United Mankind, Jinto's royal residence has been his little cabin onboard the Basroil... with a little cat – which Lafiel's father had once jokingly referred to its dam as her mother – is his only companion – aside from Lafiel.
But in the meantime, the Ahb are engaging in "Operation Phantom Flame", which they hope to decimate the armies of the United Mankind, the most radical member of the Four Nations. But during the three year cease-fire, the United Mankind had developed a new weapon – a plane-space mine that mimics a dud mine. Will the crew of the Basroil – along with Lafiel and Jinto - be able to survive the coming battle with this new weapon?
This series is a direct sequel to Crest of the Stars, and like that series, Banner of the Stars focuses more on character study than action, as well as the blossoming relationship between Jinto and Lafiel.
