Synopsis

A continuation of the previous series, set in modern-day Italy, where little girls - Henrietta, Triela, Claes, Rico, Angelica, and a new one, Beatrice - that were injured either by illness or terrorist attacks are rescued by the Social Welfare Agency – then turned into cybernetic anti-terrorist agents controlled by chemicals and watched over by handlers called 'fratellos', who work for the super-secret Section Two, the organization within the S.W.A. and battle the Padania Republic Faction, alias "the Five Republics", a terrorist group bent on destroying Italy's globalization.

Among some of the situations the young assassins find theirselves in: Triela, in search of a disappeared Section Two operative, comes face-to-face with the Five Republics' disposal expert Pinocchio, one which would dominate much of the series; Angelica, having survived an illness due to her cybernetic conversion, is back in active duty, but her fratello Marco is worried that she may not be the same Angelica he knew, as well as concern when she develops an addiction to the conditioning chemicals, not to mention facing his former fiancé about his involvement with Section Two, and the girls converge upon Cristano, one of the Five Republics' principle players, in order to slay the terrorist – but an enemy infiltrator within Section Two might jeopardize both the girls and the entire operation!
