Synopsis

This is the original television series, which preceded the Hellsing OVA series. The producers had planned to follow Kohta Hirano's story. However, Hirano had yet to finished his manga and requested the producers to stop the series. So an alternate ending was hastily crafted, which made many die-hard Hellsing fans to prefer the manga/OVA to the television series. However, it did whet the appetites of those wishing for an OVA adaptation – and were later rewarded in 2005 when Hellsing Ultimate premiered.

The Hellsing Organization, led by the iron-willed young woman Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing, stands on the cutting-edge in defending England, her Queen, and her church against supernatural threats, especially from vampires. But the greatest weapon the organization has against vampires is ANOTHER vampire – the ancient vampire known as Alucard. But lately, the No-Life King has taken up an apprentice – a young policewoman named Seras Victoria, who he saved from another vampire attacking the village of Cheddar, but had to resort of turning the girl into a vampire as well.

Seras is then placed within the Hellsing Organization, where she has to contend not only with soldiers who hate and fear her, but also her master and her employer, as well as the Vatican's secret vampire killer Paladin Alexander Anderson. But lately, a number of vampires created by an artificial microchip is keeping the organization busy. It is soon learned that another ancient vampire – the masochistic fiend named Incognito – is responsible for the chip – and causing England to turn against Sir Integra and her organization. Can Alucard and Seras find some way to save their master – and England from becoming Hell on Earth?

(UPDATE) On July 2, 2010, FUNimation Entertainment announced that it has picked-up the license of Hellsing, as well as picking up OVAs 5-on of Hellsing Ultimate. [1]
