New Dominion Tank Police, the sequel to Masamone Shirow's original series Dominion Tank Police, continues its way in terms of action and comedy in Newport City.

Synopsis

It has been some time since the bacterial cloud that had once surrounded half the Earth had disappeared, reduced to an occasional, but deadly annoyance to Newport City. However, the crime that has plagued and continues to plague it is still there... and as a result, the heroic Tank Police continues to protect and serve the citizens of the city, as well as committing its share of damage to it.

Leona Ozaki, her partner Al, her superior Captain Charles Britain, as well as Leona's mini-tank Bonaparte, is still there. But Leona has changed, becoming more and more a typical member of the Tank Police – not caring who she runs over, shoots up, or blows up, just so long as the crooks are caught! And woe to the man who dares to speak ill or slightly scratch her beloved Bonaparte! But this time, the newly-elected mayor of Newport City has had all she can handle of all the complaints and damage invoices that pile up on her desk because of the Tank Police, and as a result orders them to cut-back their patrols.

But Mayor Hathaway also understands the pressures the Tank Police is under, and she has taken steps to ease their workload by enacting laws outlawing the manufacture and sale of weapons in Newport City. However, this effort has caught the attention of the corrupt Dai-Nippon Gaiken Company, the chief manufacturer of these weapons. To combat the mayor and her efforts, the company unleashes its latest weapon – an automated battle mecha with advanced weaponry that can overwhelm even the best efforts of the Tank Police.

Leona, in the meantime, is dealing with the strangling murder of her former partner in the Osaka Motorcycle Patrol, Charon Ishikawa, who was undercover investigating Dai-Nippon Gaiken. The only witnesses to the crime, however – the criminal cat-girls Anna and Uni Puma – are less than reliable, and Leona has to use her own resources to have the murderer face justice. But this is only the tip of the iceberg, for Charon's murder has links to the crooked goings-on at the Dai-Nippon Gaiken Company, and as events progress, Leona, Al, Britain, Bonaparte, and the rest of the Tank Police has to get it together to put an end to these corporate crimes once and for all!
