Synopsis

This series is an adaptation of legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's groundbreaking Edo-period film "Seven Samurai" (which was later remade into an American western titled 'The Magnificent Seven').

The village of Kanna is annually raided by bandits, mostly for its harvest or rice. Lately, though, the bandits have now been taking women and children as well as its usual tribute of rice. In desperation, the elder of the village has made a suggestion of hiring samurai to defend the village. However, because they have little money, three members of the village somehow find seven samurai who are willing to defend Kanna for just rice. Somehow, the samurai must train the villagers to learn the skills to defend their home against the bandits... now and forevermore.
