The stars of the five Slayers TV series are gathered together in possibly this newest OVA version of the Slayers franchise, full of magic, adventure and comedy.
Synopsis
After a hard day of commercial fishing in the town of Acassi, Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev take it easy at one of the restaurants enjoying the fruits of their labors (Gourry has a whole plate of seafood, while Lina is left with one paltry sardine). On Gourry's plate is a legend of the town – the delicious octopus for which the town is famed for. After a brief fight for the tasty snack, Gourry wins out, leaving Lina to stew over what might have been a fantastic treat!
But soon afterward, a small crisis develops. It seems that the octopi around Acassi is cursed, and those eating them will end up speaking Takogo, the language of the octopi. Soon, the dim-witted swordsman ends up speaking nonsense, which confounds and irritates Lina (for one, the phrase 'Good God Almighty' ends up as 'Flat-Chested' - which is not a good thing to say in front of the flat-chested Lina). But soon the town's people, who haven't been eating octopus, soon end up speaking Takogo, which causes a lot of fights in town.
The curse also affects newcomers to the city, with Lina's other traveling companions, Amelia Wit Tesla Saillune and Zelgadis Grayworlds ending-up as victims. The mysterious demon sorcerer Xellos seems to know what's going on... but he's not telling anyone (as usual, or as he usually says, 'THAT is a secret' ^_^).
The crisis soon reveals itself to Lina and her friends. It seems that the local octopi are a bit angry about being fished for food, and had started the curse to siphon-off the anger from the city to free a demon that had been trapped nearby the city. The octopi are also aware of Lina and of the danger she may present to their plans, and as a result had hired a sorceress (Naga the Serpent) to deal with her... but after Naga finishes dinner, that is! Now Lina and company have to stop the octopi from launching their plans and end the curse... but how can they when Lina is also affected by the curse... which negates all her magic - including the Dragon Slave?
