Synopsis

A new TV series, new adventures, a new girl... same old Tenchi! This newest version of the Tenchi Muyo! franchise is the second TV series based on the classic.

It has been two years since six girls from outer space had descended upon Tenchi Masaki's life. Now because of a favor from a friend of his grandfather Katsuhito, Tenchi is moving to Tokyo to take up an apprenticeship at a shrine, as well as attending high school there – which doesn't set well for Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Ryo-Ohki, Washu, Mihoshi and Kiyone!

So it's off to the big city for Tenchi. He soon gets an apartment and is enrolled at one of the high schools. It is there where he meets new friends – especially a girl named Sakuya Kumashiro, which causes a very jealous Ryoko and Ayeka to take notice!

However, Sakuya soon turns out to be the centerpiece of a plan by Yugi, a mutant child from Ayeka's home planet of Jurai, who is using Sakuya - her creation - to drive a wedge between Tenchi and the girls. And with that done, Yugi is free to take over the universe! Can the girls get it together in time to help Tenchi stop her?

(UPDATE) On July 2, 2010, FUNimation Entertainment announced it had picked-up the license of Tenchi in Tokyo. [1]
