Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Synopsis

D, the solitary dhampir vampire hunter depicted in the anime movie Vampire Hunter D, returns in an all-new movie, once again set in a savage futuristic world, where vampires and other horrors rule the night.

In recent years, the number of vampires had been declining, due to the persistence of bounty hunters like D, and now they are threatened. However, this doesn't prevent some of them from acting out. One of them, an ancient vampire named Meier Link, has taken a human female named Charlotte Elbourne and has spirited her away.

D is contacted by Charlotte's father and is given a substantial bounty to find his daughter – alive if possible or dead if turned. But D is not alone in the hunt: Charlotte's father has also contracted the Marcus Brothers, a team of vampire hunters with the same mission. So D, along with the parasitic demon on his left hand, set out on their mission.

It turns out later that Link has contracted a demonic race known as the Barbaroi to act as bodyguards, safeguarding his journey with his hostage to the castle of Countess Carmella, a vampire that even D's father Dracula found distasteful, and had confined to the castle. But soon the dynamic of the mission makes a sudden and unexpected turn – it turns out that Charlotte is ACTUALLY a willing passenger who has fallen in love with Link, and is joining him to travel to the stars.

There are also complications on D's part as he runs afoul with the Marcus Brothers – particularly with the only female member of the team. Her name is Leila, an orphan whose mother was turned into a vampire when she was a child. Feeling unloved, she fears dying alone. At first suspicious of D, she forges a friendship with the dhampir, who saved her life from a miscalculation of hers. Can this new friendship save the two when they finally face Carmella?
