Synopsis

Set in a future where over two-thirds of the Earth's land masses had mysteriously subsided into the oceans, Aika Sumeragi works as a salvager, operating to recover technology lost during that chaotic time. She works for Gozo Aida, a former spy and her childhood partner, and works closely with Gozo's daughter Rion, who hopes to enter the trade herself. Money is tight within the K2 Corporation, mostly because of interference from Gusto Turbulence, a wealthy salvager who is only doing it because he is so enraptured by Aika, but only succeeds in annoying her.

However, the newest job Aika, Gozo and Rion take-on, the recovery of a mysterious substance called Lagu, has got the girls running afoul with the Delmo Corps, an all-woman army led by the Hagen siblings, Rudolf and his sister and incestuous lover Nina. Rudolf wishes to use the Lagu to finish what the subsidence started – to destroy the Earth and rebuild it, with him as the main progenitor of a new human race! Nina, on the other hand, wants Rudolf - body and soul - all to herself, and will kill any woman who has eyes for her brother – which includes a totally-uninterested Aika! And it doesn't help Aika when a spy, Maypia Alexymetalia, tries to stop Delmo too!

Now it's safe to say that Aika has her work cut-out for her... but she has a secret weapon on her side! Years earlier, before the Great Subsidence, Aika was one of the subjects of an experiment centered around a sentient liquid metal named Ultranite. Aika was the only one who survived and now keeps the Ultranite, which is in the form of a golden bustier. In a flash, the substance is able to cover her into an indestructible armor that resembles her skin. Her strength is also enhanced by the Ultranite, as well as the ability to defend herself and others. But at times, the Ultranite will act without Aika's will, often defending her in times of need. And from the looks of it, as well as in the future, Aika is going to need it!

The first four episodes of the series depicts the scenario mentioned above. The last three happen later on, when the K2 Corporation is finally showing a profit, enough to hire on Michikusa Shuntaro. On the outside, it's a wonder that Michikusa did get the job, being he is an air-headed idiot who barely-graduated out of school. The only thing he seems to be good at is by annoying Rion with the small doll he carries and the squeaky voice he uses to try to cheer her up.

But one thing hadn't changed – namely the Delmo Corps, who despite the loss of the Hagens still has Aika in their crosshairs – and sends their elite Gold Corps - four deadly women - against her! Aika, Rion, as well as Gusto and Maypia, are once again having their backs against the wall facing this new threat... as well as preventing Michikusa without success from trying out all the girls' dresses once they get knocked-out!

This series is significant, along with the prequel Aika R-16: Virgin Mission and Najica Blitz Tactics (all produced by Studio Fantasia) for many shoujo-ai (lesbian) metaphors, as well as plenty of "pantyshots" throughout the show, making it a must for a fanservice fan.
